Frederick and Marilyn Howe Community Engagement Scholarship-CLOSED

Description: This Frederick and Marilyn Howe Community Engagement Scholarship is available to a new freshman or current sophomores, enrolled full-time at BSC who is a resident and high school graduate of Western New York.
Requirements: Incoming freshman must have a minimum high school percentile of 85% or equivalent GPA, sophomores must have overall GPA of 2.5 or higher. All recipients must enroll full time, have demonstrated community service and/or leadership activities, have a valid FAFSA on file with the financial aid office, be a resident of Western New York and have graduated from a high school within Western New York. Preference given to student candidate residing within the City of Buffalo. Qualified candidates will be contacted to set up an interview.
Semester(s) Awarded: Fall and Spring
Renewable: Renewable for up to three additional years provided you meet the following criteria: enrolled full-time, cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher, complete 200 hours of community service annually in coordination with the Civic and Community Engagement Office, demonstrates excellence in his/her community engagement and leadership activities and funding remains available.

Scholarship will be used toward non-tuition costs billed by the college: first for qualified costs of attendance (mandatory fees, required books and supplies); any remaining funds will be used for non-qualified costs of attendance, including required health insurance, on-campus housing, and meal plans.
