Thomas Brett and Jean A. May Brett, ‘73, ‘77

Jean May Brett, Dec ’73, ’77, graduated from Buffalo State with a bachelor’s degree in secondary geoscience education with a minor in mathematics. She taught in North Tonawanda, NY before marriage and moving to New Orleans, LA where she continued working in the field of science and mathematics education in both the formal and informal arenas. The outstanding Buffalo State science and education instruction and experiences not only prepared her for the classroom but also for service to the profession.

With this scholarship Jean and her husband Thomas Brett wish to honor her parents Eleanor and John who met while attending Buffalo State. While they did not graduate, they inspired, encouraged and supported Jean as she not only completed her studies but participated in clubs and athletic teams. This scholarship is established in memory of their love, willingness to sacrifice and dedication.
