Robert and Laurel Pokelwaldt

A native of Western New York, Robert N. Pokelwaldt graduated from Buffalo State in 1960 with a BS in Industrial Arts Education. He spent his career in the refrigeration industry, ultimately serving as CEO of Frick Co., VP (1988-1990), COO (1990-1991), and CEO (1991-1999), President (1991-1997) and Chairman of the Board (1993-1999) of York International.

A long-time supporter of Buffalo State, Mr. Pokelwaldt was an executive scholar in residence for the Technology Department in 1996. Buffalo State awarded him a Doctor of Humane Letters in 1997.

Mr. and Mrs. Pokelwaldt established this scholarship to assist engineering technology department students succeed at Buffalo State and throughout life.
