Born and raised in India, Dr. Mohan S. Devgun received his education on three continents: a Bachelor of Science from Panjab University in India, a Master of Science from the University of Aston in Birmingham and a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Birmingham (both in England), and a Master of Business Administration from SUNY Buffalo and a Professional Engineering degree in manufacturing engineering from the State of Iowa.

Dr. Devgun specializes in materials, manufacturing, and quality control, with particular interest in the manufacturing industries. Having worked 10 years in the aerospace and automotive industries, he has taught in England, Venezuela, and U.S.A. From 1977-1980, Dr. Devgun served as a consultant in metal forming to the National Council of Scientific and Technological of Venezuela (CONICIT). Since 1990, he has been consultant to various manufacturing industries within Western New York, on a variety of projects related to his area of expertise.

Dr. Mohan S. Devgun joined Buffalo State in 1990 as a member of the Technology Department faculty and became chair of the Engineering Technology Department in 2016. Dr. Mohan and his wife, Kirpal K. Devgun, established this scholarship to support and encourage students pursuing a degree in manufacturing engineering technology.
