Judith A. Bondurant-Utz, Ed.D.
Dr. Judith Bondurant-Utz received her doctorate in special education with an emphasis in early childhood from the University of Cincinnati. She came to Buffalo State in 1977 as a faculty member with the Learning and Behavioral Disorders (LBD) Program in the Exceptional Education Department. She became coordinator of the program in 1980 and was instrumental in developing the college’s Early Childhood Special Education Graduate Program.
During her tenure at Buffalo State, Dr. Bondurant-Utz taught classes in the LBD Program, all classes in early childhood special education, authored two books, and mentored countless students. After her retirement in 2008, Dr. Bondurant-Utz continued working at the college as a lecturer for courses in the areas of early childhood special education and emotional and behavioral disorders. Her most recent publication, through Merrill/Prentice Hall, is the second edition of Assessing Infants and Preschoolers with Special Needs.
Dr. Bondurant-Utz established this fund in order to give back to the program to which she dedicated many years.
